Concept:

The project will produce TV show in format of an interview with Marko Filipović, Project Manager, in cooperation with local “Kuršumlija“ TV station. Recording location is TV station “Kuršumlija” studio. Video and audio will be available on the “YouTube” channel.

At the beginning and at the end of the video clip, information screens will be displayed with all required visibility elements and disclaimer text.

Malina Savic, TV Anchor, will conduct an interview with Marko Filipovic, Project Manager, of the “Activate for more opportunities” project. The project is funded by the EU and co-financed by the Government of the Republic of Serbia, implemented through a grant scheme “European Union Support to Active Youth Inclusion”.

Questions and Answers

1. What “Activate for more opportunities” project represents?

Answer:
We are part of the wider project “European Union Support to Active Youth Inclusion”, with total value of 4.7 million EUR, financed by the EU (IPA 2014) and co-funded by the Government of the Republic of Serbia. Project is managed by the Ministry of Finance, Department for Contracting and Financing of EU Funded Programmes (CFCU), while the project beneficiary institutions are the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs and Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The project “Activate for more opportunities” which is implemented by Association of Persons with Disabilities and the municipality of Kuršumlija, supports active inclusion of people with disabilities in the labour market by improving their skills, concrete work practices and awareness raising. We implement activities for the improvement of social inclusion, and employment of people with disabilities, through effective inter-sectoral coordination and partnership, developing entrepreneurial skills and knowledge, self-employment and creation of new jobs for people with disabilities.

2. What are the goals of the “Activate for more opportunities ” project?

Answer:
The overall goal of the project is to make Kuršumlija municipality a favourable environment for strengthening and fostering of economic development, through increased employment and the implementation of the reform programme of employment and social policy.

3. What is the project implementation timeframe?

Answer:
The project will be implemented from 24.12.2018 to 23.06.2020, in total duration of 18 months.

4. What are the specific goals of the project, from which people with disabilities will benefit?

Answer:
We support active inclusion of people with disabilities in the labor market, through improvement of their skills, work practices and awareness-raising activities. Also, we will promote and supprort improved capacities of local actors, to systematically address the active social inclusion of persons with disabilities.

5. What are the problems that people with disabilities face in labour market?

Answer:
People with disabilities are one of the most vulnerable groups in the labor market, and represent specific category in employment. There are number of problems that prevent them from integrating equaly in the labor market, such as health constraints, low self-esteem, employers biases towards working skills, inadequate education, lack of work experience and low level of social support.

6. What types of training and programmes will be implemented during the project?

Answer:
Fifteen people with disabilities will be trained within the “Activate for more opportunities” project. Four separate training programmes, work practice, work programme adapted to persons with disabilities, and programme for developing social skills and competences are developed. We will also provide training in Information technology and Computer use, Programming and Training for old trades.

7. What are the expected results of the project?

Answer:
We expect to raise soft skills and computer literacy of people with disabilities. We will provide concrete working practice, awareness raising, and what is of greatest importance, raised employment of unemployed people with disabilities.
It is important to have the sustainability of social inclusion for the people with disabilities.
Our project works to raise capacity of the local government, and other stakeholders to provide continuous support to unemployed people with disabilities in Kuršumlija.
